Romans 1:20 says, “For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse.”
Since God created the earth, the “heavens declare the glory of God” (Psalm 19:1) all around us. The created mountains, rivers, seas, trees, and animals all show God’s power and might. Although all of creation displays His glory, one of the largest examples is the night sky.
The speckled starry sky exhibits God’s vast reaching hand. He not only intricately designed our planet but also every piece of every galaxy. He thoughtfully designed each planet, star, and asteroid and formed laws governing every particle visible and invisible throughout the universe.
In Ridgway, Colorado, I would gaze into the awesome dark sky lit only by stars light years away. The same stars God challenged Abraham to count (Genesis 15:5). He was unable to count them because they are immeasurable for any man. Every time I look into the extensive space, I am reminded of God’s eternal power and Godhead.
God created all of creation to glorify Him. Everyone who has seen, heard, or felt God’s creation manifested in this universe has experienced the Godhead’s presence and power. With His evidences all around us, only the “fool has said in his heart, ‘There is no God’” (Psalm 14:1). Because of this knowledge of God, the only true Creator, every person will be completely accountable to Him on the judgment day (Romans 14:12, John 12:48).
