"But as he was discussing righteousness, self-control and the judgment to come, Felix became frightened and said, 'Go away for the present, and when I find time I will summon you'" (Acts 24:25).
After hearing the gospel proclaimed to him by the apostle Paul, Felix committed the worst procrastination of all - spiritual procrastination, and specifically in this case, his own salvation. He told Paul to go away and that "when I find time..."
But can't we be guilty of the same in our day to day lives? "When I find time... I will spend more time with my spouse and children... read the Bible more regularly... pray more often... become more involved in the local church... share the gospel with the lost that I meet from day to day."
Instead of excusing ourselves from our responsibilities and spiritual duties by saying "when I find time," how about we make the time? How about we redeem the time (Eph. 5:16) for those things that should take priority in our lives (Matt. 6:33; Eph. 5:22-33)? And so let us resolve today and this week to find the time for what matters most in life.
