"Finally, my brethren, rejoice in the Lord. For me to write the same things to you is not tedious, but for you it is safe" (Philippians 3:1).
Rejoicing in the Lord helps Christians safely navigate every difficult situation of life. Far from deterring the child of God, the repetition of rejoicing in the Lord strengthens his or her faith: "Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I will say, rejoice!" (Phil. 4:4) Similarly, we should never tire of hearing the gospel message - it protects us from spiritual danger. Some people are always looking for some new thing. To them, the old gospel story is "dry", "boring" or "monotonous". But, Paul did not hesitate to write the same things again, for he knew the enduring power of God's word. It does not change with the social climate or any other outward pressure. Those who love God never tire of hearing His abiding truth. Yearn for it, feast your soul upon it. Let it come alive in your heart and soul, allowing it to bear its fruit in your life, and be numbered among those who "rejoice in Christ Jesus, and have no confidence in the flesh" (Phil. 3:3).
