This issue marks the 9th year for the Knollwood Messenger. We are thankful for those of you who read these articles and hope that they have helped you to grow spiritually and to better understand God's word.
From the day we began this paper, our goal has been to be true to God's word. We've endeavored to publish articles that provoke minds to deeper understanding of the word, as well as appreciation for the powerful teaching it contains. We welcome your comments-good and bad. Only by input from our readers can we hope to include information that will be more beneficial to you.
If the Lord is willing, during the coming year, we will attempt to produce more special issues. Two books of the Bible-Hebrews and Ephesians-will be dealt with in special issues. Another issue, later in the year, will address Providence and Prayer. From time to time, we will have articles written by men who are preaching in foreign countries. Special topics concerning current problems facing the church will also be addressed. Your suggestions for subjects or topics are always welcome.
We could not publish this paper if it were not for the hard work of many other people. Staff writers are: Randy Blackaby, Micky Galloway, Dennis Ross, and Glendol McClure. This year, we will add Larry Curry, of Crestwood, IL. Carolyn Rix edits and proofreads the articles. Also, Sister Sherri Leonard is the printer for the Messenger. From the beginning, the Knollwood church elders have been very supportive of this work. Mike Hepner and Tim Hill manage our Web Page through which you have access to the past issues of the Messenger. May God continue to bless us richly as we strive to serve Him and lead others to His church. Thank again for reading! (KMG)
Learning From the Past
We often study the stories of the past in our Bibles. What do we learn from those stories?
Adam and Eve: In the first three chapters of Genesis, we read about man's creation and fall. Have we learned that Satan can only hurt, and never help, us?
Noah: Genesis 6-9. The world had become evil and God determined to destroy His creation. Noah found grace in God's eyes, and He spared him. Did Noah need to know why in order to obey the Lord?
Dear readers, trust God. That is a lesson we need never forget! One can learn from the past, or he can repeat the same mistakes. (KMG)
