The ALL-SUFFICIENT Word of God
by John C. Robertson

God's word is truth (John 17:17). A truth that is sufficient to save man (Romans 1:16). A truth that is sufficient to unify the saints on earth (1 John 1:7; 1 Corinthians 1:10). A truth that is sufficient to give peace to its adherents (1 John 2:3). The very definition of truth indicates that in times past, man has perverted God's word. We hear of our own brethren who espouse ecumenical theories of fellowship and who are parties to ism(s), such as humanism, adiaphorism and syncretism. The aim of said ism(s) is to add to God's word. Comfortable worship, also defined as will worship, becomes the premium, above truth. Brethren in Ephesus tried this (1 Timothy 1:3,4) as did those of Galatia (Galatians 1:6-9). God did not tolerate it then, and we should not be deceived into thinking He accepts will worship today (Colossians 2:23).

No study known to man can be more noble than the study of God's truths. Truths that reveal God's mind to man (Galatians 1:10,11). Truths that can be read, learned, and submitted to, in confident belief that they constitute the standard by which mankind is judged (John 12:47-50). Let us all study (2 Timothy 2:15), and interpret correctly, the pages of God's word (Ephesians 3:4). Submitting willingly to his authority and abiding in his words (2 John 9).
