Completeness
by Ronny E. Hinds

Do you ever feel there are pieces missing from your life? Like, you haven't got it altogether yet? Well, you've just joined the rest of us. I suspect most of us feel that way at various times.

We must realize that "getting it together" can only come when we allow God's word to guide our lives. The Bible is intended by God to give our lives a completeness that makes us spiritually and emotionally mature, grown-up, complete persons. "All Scripture is given... that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work" (2 Tim. 3:16-17). So, unless we allow our lives to really be directed by God's words (not just saying so), we cannot possess God's promise of completeness. There will always be a lacking. Continual study and practicing its principles will build us completely. James 1:4 says, "But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing."
