Does This Make You "Glee"ful?
by Kyle Campbell

A couple of weeks ago, the Fox Network's show "Glee" portrayed both a heterosexual couple and a homosexual couple losing their virginity. "Teen sex is now more prevalent on TV than adult sex and 'Glee' is only playing into that trend," said Parents Television Council President Tim Winter.

Los Angeles-based psychologist Dr. Nancy Irwin added that it is critical that the episode underscores consensual and safe sex, and that both parties are prepared psychologically as well as physically for taking their relationship to this next level.

The New Testament uses porneia, most often translated "fornication," and is a sin, in at least four ways: voluntary sexual intercourse of an unmarried person with someone of the opposite sex (1 Corinthians 7:2; 1 Thessalonians 4:3); as a synonym for adultery (Matthew 5:32; 19:9); prostitution (Revelation 2:14, 20); various forms of unchastity (John 8:41; 1 Corinthians 5:1).

Shows like "Glee" are very popular among young people, maybe even our young people. Do your children watch it? Do you care about what they see? Homosexuality is wrong, but it is only a part of fornication. Children seeing homosexuals losing their virginity is no more morally reprehensible than children watching heterosexuals losing their virginity! Keep your children pure!
