Islam Versus Christianity
By Steven J. Wallace

"Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves. You will know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes from thorn bushes or figs from thistles? Even so, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. A good tree cannot bear bad fruit; nor can a bad tree bear good fruit. Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. Therefore, by their fruits you will know them." (Matthew 7:15-20)

Carnal Warfare
Islam: "Fight in the cause of Allah those who fight you, but do not transgress limits; for Allah loveth not transgressors. And slay them wherever ye catch them, and turn them out from where they have turned you out; for tumult or oppression are worse than slaughter; but fight them not at the Sacred Mosque, unless they (first) fight you there; but if they fight you, slay them. Such is the reward of those who suppress faith." (Quran 2:190, 191)

"Fight those who believe not in Allah nor the Last Day. . .O ye who believe! Fight the unbelievers who gird you about, and let them find firmness in you: And know that Allah is with those who fear Him." (Quran 9:29, 123)

Christianity: "But I tell you not to resist an evil person. But whoever slaps you on your right cheek, turn the other to him also." (Matthew 5:39)

"For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh. For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ." (2 Corinthians 10:3-5)

"Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse. . .Repay no one evil for evil. . .Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good." (Romans 12:14, 17, 21)

Deity of Christ
Islam: "The similitude of Jesus before Allah is as that of Adam; he created him from dust, then said to him: "Be," and he was." (Quran 3:59)

"The Jews call Uzair (Ezra) a son of Allah, and the Christians call Christ the Son of Allah. That is a saying from their mouth; (In this) they imitate what the unbelievers of old used to say. Allah's curse be on them. How they are deluded away from the Truth!" (Quran 9:30)

"It does not behoove God to have a son. Too immaculate is he." (Quran 19:35)

Christianity: "Who has ascended into heaven, or descended? Who has gathered the wind in His fists? Who has bound the waters in a garment? Who has established all the ends of the earth? What is His name and what is His Son's name, if you know?" (Proverbs 30:4)

"Therefore, the Jews sought all the more to kill Him, because He not only broke the Sabbath, but also said that God was His Father, making Himself equal with God." (John 5:18)

"He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth. . .And He is before all things, and in Him all things consist." (Colossians 1:15-17)

Trinity
Islam: ". . .Christ Jesus the son of Mary was (no more than) an apostle of Allah. . .Say not 'Trinity:' desist: It will be better for you: For Allah is One God. . ." (Quran 4:171; cf. 5:76)

Christianity: "For in Him dwells all the power of the Godhead bodily." (Colossians 2:9)

"Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit." (Matthew 28:19)

Charitable Giving
Islam: "If you give alms openly, it is well; but if you do it secretly and give to the poor, that is better." (Quran 2:271a)

Christianity: "Take heed that you do not do your charitable deeds before men, to be seen by them. Otherwise, you have no reward from your father in heaven." (Matthew 6:1)

Remission of Sins
Islam: If you give alms. . .This will absolve you of some of your sins; and God is cognizant of all you do." (Quran 2:2711)

Christianity: "Therefore do not be ashamed of the testimony of our Lord. . .but share with me in the sufferings for the gospel according to the power of God, who has saved us and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works. . ." (2 Timothy 1:8,9)

"Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit. . .that having been justified by His grace we should become heirs according to the hope of eternal life." (Titus 3:5,7)

"Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him. For if when we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, much more, having been reconciled, we shall be saved by His life. . . .Or do you not know that as many of us as were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into His death? Therefore we were buried with Him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life." (Romans 5:9,10; 6:3,4)

While Islam acknowledges both Moses and Jesus, it denies what they taught. Islam denies Jesus' position as the "Son of God," as well as His intercessory death for all mankind. Without Christ's death, there is no remission of sins; baptism serves no purpose, and the Lord's Supper is an empty ceremony. Islam, therefore, is not of God; it is an anti-Christ religion that falls into the same grouping as all who seek to pervert, distort, falsify, and add to God's inspired word. Sadly, those whom it deceives are condemned, along with that colossal company of infidels and false prophets, to the eternal lake of fire and brimstone (Matthew 7:13,14; Revelation 20:10; 21:8; 22:18, 19).

As you can see, Islam stands diametrically opposed to the Bible, to Christ, and to the way of truth.

Brother Wallace has given a fair comparison of some of the Islam teaching, versus the Bible teaching. Our discussion should always be about the teaching and not the people. This article has been edited to accommodate space limitations. (KMG)
