Is It Really a Matter of Choice?
By Keith Greer

One of the most important questions ever asked is: "what must I do to be saved?" Today, men still need the answer to this question. Yet, the answer probably depends on who you ask. Why? Many believe it's simply a matter of one's personal choice. How do the scriptures answer this question?

"Now when they heard this, they were cut to the heart, and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do?" {Acts 2:37} The answer -- "...Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins..." {Acts 2:38}

"And he brought them out and said, "Sirs, what must I do to be saved?" {Acts 16:30} The answer -- "...Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved, you and your household. Then they spoke the word of the Lord to him and to all who were in his house. And he took them the same hour of the night and washed their stripes. And immediately he and all his family were baptized." {Acts 16:31-33}

"Jesus answered, Most assuredly, I say unto you, unless one is born of the water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of heaven." {John 3:5}

"Do not fear any of those things which you are about to suffer. Indeed, the devil is about to throw some of you into prison, that you may be tested, and you will have tribulation ten days. Be faithful until death, and I will give you the crown of life." {Revelation 2:10}

Friends, the only correct answer to this question is the answer found in God's book. Why? Because it's His choice!
