Some Things Are Impossible
By Keith Greer

Whenever we discuss the character of God, it is understood all things are possible for Him. "Is anything too hard for the LORD?..."{Genesis 18:14} "...With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible." {Matthew 19:26}

Yet, if we take a closer look into His character, actions, and His words, the answer may not be as we think. Despite all His awesome power, authority, and love, could there be some things which are impossible for Him to do? Allow me to give you some things to consider...

For God to Lie. "That by two immutable things, in which it is impossible for God to lie, we might have strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold of the hope set before us." {Hebrews 6:18} All things contained in God's book are the truth. This means even the things that many in this world, and in the Lord's church, don't accept as truth. Why? God cannot lie--NEVER!

To Be Saved without the Blood of Christ. "In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace." {Ephesians 1:7} The debate rages on concerning the need for baptism. The question is forever answered when we accept where God places access to that blood. Where? In baptism. Please read Romans 6:3,4 and Colossians 2:11-13.

To Please God Without Bible Faith. "But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him."{Hebrews 11:6} We are not talking about some statement of belief of God. Bible faith is an obedient faith. Please read John 14:15 and Hebrews 11.

To Be Saved After This Life. "And besides all this, between us and you there is a great gulf fixed, so that those who want to pass from here to you cannot, nor can those from there pass to us."{Luke 16:26} Despite the popular notion, one cannot change his eternal destiny after death. All the prayers, tears, even money given to the church, can not change what one has done during their life.

To Miss Judgment. "And as it is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgment."{Hebrews 9:27} We may be late and postpone many things in this life but this appointment we will all make. No one will miss the judgment of our Lord, 2 Corinthians 5:10.

God's character limits some things He can not do!
