The Christian Path
By Keith Greer

"And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God." {Romans 12:2}

What path does one take to insure that they are not conforming to the world?

Walk In The Light. "But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin." {1 John 1:7}

What is this light? The word of God. "Your word is a lamp to my feet And a light to my path." {Psalm 119:105} The word guides and exposes the correct path for us to follow.

Walk In Love. "And walk in love, as Christ also has loved us and given Himself for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet-smelling aroma." {Ephesians 5:2}

Christ gave us an example to love one another as He has loved us. How we treat others shows our love for them.

"A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another. By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another." {John 13:34,35}

Walk In The Spirit. "I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh." {Galatians 5:16} When one follows the "inspired word", they are being "led by the Spirit". The word of God was revealed by the Holy Spirit. Christians are to mold their lives around the teachings of the Bible.

Walk In The Truth. "I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth." {3 John 4} What is truth?

"Sanctify them by Your truth. Your word is truth." {John 17:17} Does God tell us how to conduct ourselves in this world?

Christians are to be "living Bibles" for others to read. What are people reading as they watch your life?

Walk In Good Works. "For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them." {Ephesians 2:10} What is a good work? What God calls a good work! God has designed what we are to do as we live in this life.

Walk In Wisdom. "Walk in wisdom toward those who are outside, redeeming the time." {Colossians 4:5} Who's wisdom?

"For since, in the wisdom of God, the world through wisdom did not know God, it pleased God through the foolishness of the message preached to save those who believe." {1 Corinthians 1:21}

"'For My thoughts are not your thoughts, Nor are your ways My ways,' says the LORD. 'For as the heavens are higher than the earth, So are My ways higher than your ways, And My thoughts than your thoughts'." {Isaiah 55:8,9} Remember, the Creator knows more than the creature.

Walk Circumspectly. "See then that you walk circumspectly, not as fools but as wise," {Ephesians 5:15} We need to always remember the consequences for the decisions we make each day. Christians need to be mindful about the paths we choose to walk down. Do we ever consider where these paths will lead us?

Yes, we must live in the world. But our "paths" must be different. What paths are you walking?
